Ethel L. Dupar Fragrant Garden for the Blind
A 50 Year Partnership
The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. and the Dupar Foundation have partnered since 1973 to create accessible spaces for people who are blind, DeafBlind, and blind with other disabilities. The garden provides a respite for employees, offering a calming environment to relax and refresh during the workday. Serving as a reminder of the generosity of our partners, the garden is a part of the Lighthouse community that inspires us to discover our passions and grow as individuals. At the Lighthouse skills are gained, confidence is instilled, and lives are transformed.
What’s in the Garden?
The Garden is home to over 100 varieties of plant species, many of whom were chosen specifically because of their fragrance.
Navilens Technology
In the garden we use Navilens tags, which are specifically designed for people who are blind or visually impaired to use their phones to access more information on plant species and uses. Download the free Navilens app in android or apple app stores.
Special Thanks
We could not have made the garden as beautiful as it looks without the hard work of our community partners. Thank you!
